respect due larry. my old man was fifteen when he joined up to escape a life of poverty, holes in his shorts and wearing his older sisters jelly shoes, beaten for eating the 'jockey' off the cheese by his old man. he was an old fashioned dad, never kicked a football with me. too busy. always at work, double shifts and weekend work to earn us a week at butlin's holiday camp. he loved me though and i worshipped him. got blown up during d-day, badly burned, sent home and eight weeks later out to fight the japanese in the paific, we are not worthy, veterans indeeed.....
And respect for your father Tim, a generation born during a depression...surviving wars....working hard to provide their own families with things they never had...much respect.
