This evening a picture of a CB 350 police model bike was posted on Facebook at the Japanese Vintage Bike Club group page...Did a little surfing and found these pictures of a 1967 police Model. You can click on the link below the speedo picture to see and read more about it. I'd never heard of this model before. Have seen Honda 750 and 450 police bikes before..had no idea they had built a 350 Honda police model. Looking at these pics, I'd have to say that the gas tank and side covers look to be about 1971 vintage....??

I'm with you mate, something outta whack there, defo post '67 tank and livery, but, like you, never seen the three fiddy in fuzz finish.
ReplyDeleteYeah, not the biggest FB fan...but the motorcycle groups are interesting...
DeleteGonna do a bit more research on this bike. The general consensus over at FB was that later parts got swapped in during the restoration because the originals were in bad shape, and original type replacements couldn't be sourced... another interesting tid-bit was like the 450 Police model, this 350 is probably equipped with a 360 degree crankshaft...which would make it sound more 'British'. My old Black Bomber 450 is equipped with a 360 degree crank, which makes me wonder if maybe it may have been a 'Pull-leeese' model...more research needed...
I'm thinking the ossifer would have a tough time in hot pursuit of the muscle cars of the day. Hope they were equipped with radios.
ReplyDeleteCall in the choppers....the ones with blades....
