And the winner is...

One of the early races, the big screen and flying through turn one.

In the main event the winner is Bryan Smith over Chris Carr by the proverbial wheel and a half...

Looking across to the main pit area.

Kicking up dust coming through turn four.

Start of  the main event

Out on the track
Zoom, zoom.

Back from the races, have a bunch of pics to go through. Since I had luck posting some vids, here's a few and a couple of pics. Will post more tomorrow. Was an excellent day at the races. Some amazing action .Too tired to deal with blogger.

  1. In case anyone's looking, I'll be back with a part 2 of Sacramento Mile coverage. As poor quality as the Kodak videos are, I have more. After the main was over we were allowed into the pit lane for autographs and close-up looks at the bikes fresh off the track. The riders and crew were great, answering questions and signing souvenirs. Might take a little while to organize the next post, but check back.

  3. Well, I look like a lot of people evidently. I spend more time chatting with people who thought they knew me, and sometimes I do know them. Ran into an old friend of my brothers who recognized me, but I had to ask him his name...always awkward. Then there is the "small-world" thing Always meet people who know someone I know. Also meet new and interesting people. I met a man named Bob Carlson, who as well as being a Korean War veteran, raced Harleys in the 50's. Bob raced an old flathead Harley. It was great chatting with him and I'll be posting a pic of him. He raced at Catalina, where they just recently started racing at again. If I was caught on tape, I was the only tall guy wearing a BSA shirt and an O.D.green Aussie hat...with aviator style sun-glasses. Oh yeah, and a graying pony-tail.
Uhhhhhh Facebook, the dreaded Facebook. I just typed "results for Sacramento Mile" into the search machine, and a great AMA article popped up as well as a bunch of others. I'm not ready for Facebook...or is it Facebook isn't ready for me? Besides there is already another "Hairy Larry" over there!
Coming up, for SFB and Kawa, a Moped intermission, and then I have to get back to work on "Part 2...The Sac Mile".
