Sears and their Puchs...and little 106 singles, and 250 "twingles"...or was that Wards Dept. stores? My dad would take me to Sears to look at the bikes. I'd convince him we needed to look at the more modern designs at the "real" bike shops. This is Jim Ward's back yard, he sold me the Honda 150 Kawa. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets it running someday. He does have some nice gardens. These pics were taken a few years ago...maybe I should go back and have another look. I remember liking the quaint charm of the bikes Sears and Wards sold in those days, but some really exciting stuff was showing up at the "real" bike shops.
I'm not sure on this as I was only a young 'un then, but I think my Dad had a small bike from Monkey Ward. It was when we lived in VA, he bought it, ahd it for about a year I think and then traded it for some high powered hair clippers...he was going to barber school then...the horror of it all!
Hahaha, love it!
ReplyDeleteThink it was a Puch Maxi in the UK/Europe. Same moped, just different name.
ReplyDeleteDoes have quite the look amongst the cacti don't it!
I take it there won't be any rescue attempt on this fine machine.... is this the one that belongs to the guy you got the Honda CA95 off?
ReplyDeleteNice garden!
