Last Sunday there was a Community Street Fair a couple blocks from where I live. Decided to check it out and was pleasantly surprised by a car show that was part of the festivities.
I'll probably break this in to a 2 parter...since I haven't got all the pics uploaded from the new phone yet. (Still learning how to use the thing).
There was a variety of Hot Rods, Classics, and trucks...and a 'Baja Bug'.
The school district I went to had '55 and '56 chevs as Drivers Education cars. By the time I had Driver's Ed they had moved up to '60's Dodge Coronets.
My brother bought a few '55's and '56's for under 50 dollars in the mid '60's when he was in Junior High School....fixed them up a bit, and moved them on for a couple hundred....wish we'd hung on to them....
Always wanted a '57, and in this color...
Course these days I wouldn't mind an old Panel truck...to carry a bike and/or camp out of.
The kind of sedans that were around about the time I was in diapers...
A pair of '70's Muscle Mustangs...brought back memories of tuning and racing around in a couple of my buddie's 'Stangs...
Had a nice time hanging out and chatting with the owner of this VW Baja Bug. He was close to my age, and even though we went to different schools he'd grown up in this area, so we got to swap a lot of stories of the 'good old days' of the Sacramento area...
Will end here and be back with more pics in part 2....
